Sick Child Guidelines for the 2025-26 School Year

In an effort to maintain the good health of all of our students, please refrain from sending your child to school if they are sick. This will reduce the overall number of illnesses among our students.

If a child exhibits any of the following symptoms at school, a parent/guardian/emergency contact will be notified to come and pick up the student:

● Fever-Temperature of 100.4* F or more

● Diarrhea

● Vomiting

● Persistent coughing

● Draining or spreading rash

Please keep your child at home if he/she currently has or has had any of these symptoms in the last 24 hours.

If you have any questions about these quidelines, please contact your child's school nurse.

Medication Policy

No prescription or over the counter (OTC) medication shall be given to a student by any employee of the ECASD unless written instructions for dispensing prescribed medication, signed by the prescribing physician/licensed prescriber, along with written authorization from the parent(s)/guardian(s), authorizing school personnel to give medication in the dosage prescribed by the physician/licensed prescriber, have been delivered along with the drug to designated school personnel.   For questions about medications, contact the School Nurse or Flynn Med. Assistant.
